Approach

The Little Flower approach is multifaceted to improve overall health while considering your diet, physical activity, stress levels, toxin exposure, and mental well-being. We believe in looking at your overall health to create a path to wellness.

Evaluation: We evaluate your overall health and the symptoms causing your issues. We do this through an individualized combination of questionnaires, food diaries, physical exams, and, or lab work. We work to find the root cause and determine impacting factors such as diet, external toxins, stress, medications, and physical activity levels. This multifaceted approach allows us to get a complete picture of health and move to create a comprehensive treatment plan.

Treatment Plan: we create a customized treatment plan to address each individual's health concerns. These plans often have multiple phases of treatment and can include lifestyle changes such as diet, removal of toxins, decreasing stress, and physical activity. We also use supplements at different phases to assist in treatment. Every plan is a collaboration between the client and the nutritionist to generate the best results.

Health is a Journey: For most people, health issues do not develop overnight and will not be solved quickly either. The Little Flower Wellness and Nutrition is a health journey. We walk with you on this journey to help ensure success, but ultimately, the most successful people are those who are willing to make lifestyle changes. We would love to discuss how we can help further with a free 15-minute consultation.

Faith: While you do not need an active faith to benefit from our services, the Little Flower approach is rooted in faith because we believe that Jesus is the ultimate and divine healer. Like a home without a strong foundation, our treatments wouldn't be as strong without the foundation of faith at its base. At the Little Flower Wellness and Nutrition, we offer prayer at the beginning of every individual and group session, asking Jesus to guide us on the healing journey. We can also provide tools to help strengthen your faith.

Laura Torres
Clinical Nutritionist

Hi there! I'm Laura Torres, a nutritionist, wife, mom, faithful Catholic woman, and the founder of The Little Flower Wellness and Nutrition. I, like so many other women, experienced issues with my health and hormones with no real solution or, at times, hope until I realized the power of lifestyle and nutrition. I lived a pretty typical American lifestyle with too much sugar and processed foods. I tried my share of crash diets to lose weight and fell into the lie that contraceptives were the only solution to my hormonal issues. My journey to wellness was longer than it needed to be, but I hope yours doesn’t have to be! As I discovered the role of nutrition and lifestyle, I became fascinated and passionate about helping others find that the key to optimal health is often in their own hands. I pursued a master's degree in clinical nutrition and started working with friends and family to get on a healthier journey. I decided to expand my efforts with Little Flower Wellness and Nutrition.

I look forward to the opportunity to help you find joy and health!

The Little Flower & St Therese of Lisieux

I first discovered St. Therese of Lisieux through St. Teresa of Calcutta, who was my first love of any Saint. The incredible love St. Teresa of Calcutta showed everyone was my first glimpse into the love of Jesus. When I read that her name, Teresa, was after St Therese of Lisieux, I immediately felt I needed to learn more about St Therese of Lisieux, who is also lovingly called the "little flower." I fell in love with the simplicity of St. Therese of Lisieux and the "little way" of spirituality, which seeks to do ordinary things with extraordinary love. I chose the name Little Flower because I hope to share my knowledge of wellness and nutrition in a simple way that everyone can understand, but to do so with extraordinary love. One of my favorite quotes from St. Therese of Lisieux is, "If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose. Spring would lose its loveliness." We each have such a beautiful and important role in this life. I hope that in some small way, I can help you bloom as the beautiful person that God created to be full of life and health.
